BIOGRAPHY
before TWEAK formed, this band was first called SHUMAI during the beginning year of 1999 in san diego CA. daiki on main vocals and guitar which came from del mar, mongol playing bass and backing vocals who came from linda vista, chris playing guitar which came from mira mesa, and kato playing drums which was from san marcos (The reason why everyone was from all around the San Diego County was because we've all met in the Japanese school). during SHUMAI, we played mainly HI-STANDARD covers and probably one original songs that we made. after playing a show at ikuei seminar, SHUMAI broke up due to some problems we had between members and the musical differences. after couple months daiki, mongol, and kato started a three piece punk band which we named TWEAK. we then started making new songs and got active towards actually starting a punk band. then we recorded our first demotape "f*cked up teenlife" using daiki's 4 track machine. after we recorded the demotape, mongol had to go out of the band because he had to move to japan. for mongol's replacement, daisuke from NATURAL HIGH (RIP) was playing bass for one of our show. At the end of the year, kato decided to quit the band and yu became our new drummer. then we found a new bass player chris who used to play guitar for this old portion of the band SHUMAI. With the line up of daiki, yu and chris, TWEAK had couple shows that they played and was gaining popularity not only in the japanese community but in the san diego area. after some problems with changing the drummer constantly with kato, yu, and many others, eventually yu became our official drummer. after recording the 2nd demo tape entitled "TWEAK DEMO" passing it out and selling it, our name is being heard. TWEAK is now playing consecutive shows throughout san diego county.
